Carly

"London" is a sweet little 4 year old beauty who I have sketched holding some flowers up for her Grandmother. The butterfly has flown in and London is unaware of its visit. London will be life-size, seated on a bronze sculpted stump, with vegetation and perhaps a little lady bug crawling up one side. I drew London with a tentative smile as she was a little shy when I first met her, but after seeing her with a brilliant smile I have decided to change that and soften her features in the upcoming sculpture. "Carly" is a cheerful 10 year old who did a couple of lively dance routines for me when I came to meet her. At one point, when she laughed and threw back her head in the joy of the moment, I got this image in my mind. With Carly’s rich brunette hair waving in the action, and her dress flaring out in the two rows of ruffles, she should be quite an image dancing on sculpted flagstone.
Both bronze sculptures will be life-sized, and "London" and "Carly" will be installed in a landscaped patio area in front of their Grandparents’ beautiful home near Elsmere, Kentucky.

"Early Imprinting"
Rich textures contrast with silky smooth hair and skin tones to add visual interest to this portrait of a three year old girl. This is a nostalgic image of Anita, peering out from under her cowboy hat, ‘making the connection’ with her pony, Patsy.

Anita always does a pen or pencil illustration for her clients requesting bronze sculpture commissions. Anita provides detailed sketches for clients so that they can envision the finished portrait in bronze. She is very adept at discovering the unique traits that make your loved one so extraordinary.

"Introductions"
This drawing was a proposal for a life-sized sculpture for the Preble County Animal Shelter’s new facility. It was designed to show the curiosity of the cat and dog as they cautiously check each other out, or in Anita’s terms…’Make the Connection’.

"Marissa"
These images are sketches for a sculpture portrait of a 5 year old girl, commissioned by her grandmother. She will be sculpted life-size and will be holding a basket. This sculpture was designed as an indoor or outdoor installation, and can be viewed on this website.

Sculpture that captures the spirit of a brief moment caught in time and space… sometimes nostalgic, sometimes whimsical, …but always heartening, energetic, and full of life.
