| When I met with 10 year old Carly, I asked her what she really loved to do. Her face lit up and she said was taking ballroom dancing lessons and loved to dance. I asked her to do a few different dances for me. At first Carly was a little hesitant to begin, but once she started she threw back her head with a radiant smile and I knew she was a natural. Carly has long thick brunette hair and the dress she wore for our meeting flared out nicely as she danced. Since she was dancing on the Patio, I decided to sculpt a piece of Kentucky flagstone for the base.
The patinas on this sculpture are Ferric and Cupric Nitrates along with traditional French Browns. The sculpture has been clear coated and waxed so it is suitable for outdoor installations in a Garden or Park setting. I call it the "Joy of the Dance". |
