Anita is known for her realistic bronze sculpture that captures the lively interaction of children, adults, and animals. Her sculpture expresses that special moment when two living things "connect" or interact. Anita artfully captures those special moments of drama and suspense in bronze forever.

At the completion of the construction of the new Preble County Humane Society's Pet Center, Anita was asked to design a proposal for a multiple sculpture installation for the front of the building. The requirements were that it would show a loving, caring, relationship between people and animals. As Anita developed the idea it became natural to show the connection between children and puppies and kittens. Anita added "Bo", a dog she had previously sculpted, who had come from the Animal Shelter, to the grouping as an overseer of the children and animals. The boy holds a dog treat for the hound puppy in his arms, and the girl holds a large smug kitten stretching out in her basket. Additional kittens and puppies play on the rocks around their feet. Anita tried to show the delight as well as the responsibility of caring for our four legged friends and titled the sculpture: "Loving Friends".

The Humane Society of Preble County has completed its new Humane Pet Center (see sculpture installation section). All funds were provided by generous donations from the public and from local contractors, and businesses. We can be proud that lost and unwanted animals can now find a safe and pleasant environment until they can be adopted into loving homes.
The 9,400 square foot steel facility has 40 adult dog runs, a puppy room designed with floor play pens, a cat room, isolation areas, a multi-purpose room used for puppy training classes and education. Rooms for food storage and preparation, night drop-off and get-acquainted rooms are also available in the new building. Our new shelter offers proper ventilation, drainage systems, and a healthy environment.
Sculpture Commissions
The majority of my work is done on commission as bronze portraits of people and animals. I enjoy working with clients and watch for the way they connect and interact with others. I also enjoy sculpting all kinds of animals doing things with people, young and old. My intent is to capture that special look that identifies the unique personality of my subject. I am always in pursuit of excellence, combining my artistic vision with an infinite love for people and animals, and transforming that into bronze sculpture.

Sculpture that captures the spirit of a brief moment caught in time and space… sometimes nostalgic, sometimes whimsical, …but always heartening, energetic, and full of life.
